Labor-Management- The next Labor Management meeting will take place on December 14 at the SVFT office. Rick has been notified that Commissioner Mark McQuillan will not be able to attend the December Labor-management meeting. Previous commitments prevent his attendance. We are sending to him the future meeting dates with the hope that he will put one or more of them on his calendar. On 11/29 Rick sent a letter to the Commissioner to follow up on the retreat, give him the next Labor-Management date, and continue to build on the relationship that was developed that day.
On 11/29 SVFT Vice President, Pat Keavney attended the FOCUS meeting her inclusion on this committee is an outcome of our retreat.
System-wide meeting for all P.D. chairs is scheduled for 12/7 at CREC. SVFT Vice-President, Pat Keavney will attend this meeting.

Outreach - The SVFT has identified a need for our system to reach out to the people who are making labor decisions in Connecticut. On Wednesday, November 28, 2007, SVFT President, Rick Tanasi and Vice President, Pat Keavney met with Patricia Mayfield, the Commissioner of Labor. John Olsen, President of AFL-CIO attended the meeting also. The meeting was very productive and the SVFT leadership is encouraged by this newly formed coalition. A more detailed report on this meeting will be shared at the December 5 Executive Council meeting.
The Move- Our move to 2275 Silas Dean Highway is well underway. The furniture will be delivered on Monday, December 3 and the actual move will take place on Friday, December 7. We have been busy purging, shredding, and packing. The phone and internet access cables have been installed. Phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same as well as our mailing address. Plans are underway for an office-warming / holiday gathering so stay tuned!
